Since 2005, I’ve enjoyed turning complex problems into simple, beautiful and intuitive designs. When I’m not pushing pixels, you’ll find me cooking, gardening or enjoying a country walk.
My journey started straight out of university, diving headfirst into the fast-paced world of London’s digital agencies. I thrived on collaborating with diverse teams to bring exciting projects to life, honing my skills in visual design, front-end development and working on some top brands. A move to Bath led me to explore the client-side of the web, managing websites and building strong relationships as an account manager. While valuable, I ultimately missed the hands-on creativity of design and development. After taking some time to focus on my family (including my amazing autistic daughter!), I’m excited to return to the design world with renewed energy and perspective. I’m eager to connect with clients and collaborators who share my passion for crafting exceptional online experiences.
Here are a few key takeaways I’ve learned over my years as a designer.
Design can be a subjective and creative art form, but it’s also logical and scientific. While I like to craft beautiful products, I also believe that every detail of your product or UI should have a specific purpose and should earn its place. Less is definitely more when it comes to design. Start with a blank canvas and add only what’s needed.
In any profession, it’s easy to stagnate and get comfortable. It’s important for me to read and absorb as much as I can to stay passionate about my craft and to continue to challenge myself and those around me. I try to set aside some time each morning to read and learn something new.
Great design doesn’t happen in isolation. The best results come from open communication, feedback, and collaboration—whether that’s with clients, developers, or other designers. Understanding different perspectives helps shape a stronger final product. I believe in working closely with stakeholders to ensure every project is aligned with both business goals and user needs.
A website should be more than just visually appealing—it needs to be intuitive, accessible, and high-performing. I strive to balance aesthetics with functionality, ensuring that every design choice enhances usability. Whether it’s optimizing navigation, refining typography, or considering accessibility best practices, I aim to create experiences that look great and feel seamless to use.
I’m deepening my knowledge of JavaScript and PHP to bridge the gap between design and development.
I love turning complex ideas into seamless, interactive solutions and the ability to shape digital experiences that are both beautiful and dynamic .
Figma, but Photoshop is my first love.
UI design and WordPress. Pairing well with my love of design and building things.
Cooking, travelling, interior design, gardening and making my kids giggle. Does Netflixing on the couch with chocolate count?
A long walk with my dog while listening to a podcast on AI, design, or emerging technology.
I’d be an interior designer or an architect, or maybe both?
